An unusual freight request
Thursday 22nd December 2011
In this era of urgent shipments it was unusual this week to receive a request from an American company for a small box of spares to be transported door to door from the U.S.A. to New Soutth Wales, Australia, by the cheapest sea freight. On looking at the dimensions and weight, we concluded the best and cheapest method of transport would not be by sea freight but by air freight courier. This not only reduced the cost but also the transit time which resulted in a win-win situation for all concerned. Our client got a cheaper price, Fuji Xerox, the consignee, have their spares delivered quicker than expected without damage and we won the job against other local American transport suppliers! Union Transport review each job, whether large or small, using the same criteria, to use our extensive experience find the best and most cost effective freight solutions for our clients!
